I left my car at the mechanics to get a new set of headers put on and the next morning some one took it on a joy ride and stole the seats, CD player, speakers, tool kit, and some brand new Hedman Hedders in the passenger seat. The headlights were propped up with a screw driver and ratchet form my own toolkit! damage to the fiberglass around the headlights and the drivers side door where they drilled out the lock. Then the broke into the mechanics and took my keys to steal the stuff out of my car in private. What makes me mad about the whole thing is that the police in my city pulled my over for being too loud the other day. Where were they this time? but then I guess tehy can't be everywhere all the time... :mad :mad :mad :mad
the people better hope they don't get caught... :boxing
people need to earn money and buy their own freakin stuff... ebay isn't that expensive...
Geez....sorry to hear this! I know the feeling (see my post this afternoon in "Off topic"). I was similarly victimized by vandalism, not the Vette though. I agree....you just want to find them....and teach them a lesson. What a PITA....hopefully they'll get caught trying to sell something.
Damn dude, sorry to hear that. I know what it feels like. When I first moved to Vegas in 1993, my truck got broken into twice in the first 3 weeks I lived there. They broke the lock, stole my stuff, and then locked it back up when they were done. :mad :mad :mad
Who is paying for the damage?
Re: My Corvette was vandalized/robbed! (79VetteMike)
well insurance is paying for everything (minus the deductable) that was attached to the car. I have to take a hit on the things that weren't attached to the car (i.e. The brand new headders and tool kit). It was in Wooster by the way. LOOK OUT ON EBAY OR WHERE EVER FOR A "NEWLY PURCHASED" PAIR OF CORBEAU CR-1 RACING SEATS, AND PIONEER DEH-P8500 HEAD UNIT.
I'm real sorry to hear about your troubles, hope they find those idiots soon. It really s--ks that you can't trust people. About 5 years ago they got into all three of our cars and ripped out every wire that could be found. I would just love to catch someone trying to mess with my cars! Good luck. :mad
Sorry to hear about your loss...the sad part is, most thieves like that don't really need the money, they steal it just because they can. I feel we should be able to treat the perpetrators like old west horse thieves and give 'em a mild case of .45 caliber lead poisoning.
I want leave my Corvettes at the shop , unless, they promise they keep them inside at night. They can still break in, but I just feel it will be more secure.
Did the shop have your car inside or out? We keep all of our cars in the shop. No car is left out side. I know I would be pretty P.O.ed if that happened to me. Something similar happened to except they keyed my car and flatted all 4 tires along w/4 other cars in the neigherborhood. You just can't trust any one any more.
Re: My Corvette was vandalized/robbed! (Van Steel)
the car was outside, I had droped off the car on Labor Day night so it could be gotten to first thing in the morning. I am not so mad at the fact that it hapened to me, but I just really start to loose faith in humanity the more it happens...
I think you just got a spell of bad luck, My vette was broken into two weeks after I got it and they stole the top and seats. S*&^T Happens, you got it back and that is all that matters. Hopefully they didn't wreck it too much.
You may want to check with your Homeowners Insurance Policy. Some items can be coveraged for theft even though they are car related. It depends on what the items are for example your tool kit can clearly be covered. Items not attached to the car fall into this catagory. You might have extra tires and rims in your garage, ie spare parts. If they were stolen or destroyed by a house fire they can be covered. All this is subject to deductibles and can change form state to state. Agency staff might missinform you because most vehicle items like a car on jacks with no engine or wheels is still a car so it would not be covered by your Homeowners policy. If any adjusters read this please jump in.
Brutal, absolutely brutal. Hope the police that were so vigilant when you were "too loud" can now find these nimrods and show them the inside of a cell.
Damn! Dudeskie that sucks royally. I hope they catch the a@#h#l$#.
I'm like everyone else it sucks you can't trust anyone any more.
It seems the whole world has flipped out at times. :mad
