I need some help!! I got my new HEI unit in and now looking for a 12volt switched source that is powered WHEN the motors is cranking....
What did you do for your 12 volt source?????

Bob, We went right to the starter post for power for the MSD. Originally he had it hooked up to the alternator but MSD said that was a bad idea. No problem since it has been hooked to the starter....

Not sure why MSD does not want you to use the alternator for power, but in the instructions they say DO NOT hook up the main power for MSD at the alternator. Maybe it could cause a voltage spike?
