Tail Lights Out
Driving home the other night my tail and stop lights went out. I got to looking at it today and all seems fine. No blown fuses (changed them anyway) wires are connected and functional, bulbs all look good. Any suggestions would be appreciated as to any hidden things I would need to look at. :confused:

They're out with the headlights on, or the brakes don't activate, or both?
If the headlights are on and you get light, but brakes don't activate, could be brake switch.
Other wise, maybe there's a bad ground somewhere. Time to trace and test.

Had a similar problem with a 77 (no tailights or running lights). drop your steering wheel cover 3 screws,loosen the driver side dash pad , pull it down slightly, remove the headlight switch plug from the back of the switch, it's a six spaded connector, sand down the spades and apply a headlight grease (dielectric) compound and you should be ok, any time you have two dissimilar metals in contact corrosion can build up over time

Thanks for the replies! Turns out it was a loose ground wire on the tail light assembly. I guess back in 69 they thought stringing the ground wires together was good. :banghead:
