but im wondering why that area is left open to dirt etc too???
it cant be good for the moving parts there...?
that area has no seal?

if i do this Keisler 5 speed swap i will want to sell my BW T-10 4 speed along with the drive shaft, speedo cable (3000 miles on cable) and anything else that i dont use...
whats this stuff worth anyways?
im thinking that it would be a great start for someone looking to go from automatic to 4 speed...

How do you see dirt entering the transmission internals? I'm looking at the trans, and just can't see it. The only place that dirt could enter the trans is around the shifter shaft where it enters the case, but there's a seal there.

Well, I said might...based purely upon examination of the exploded diagram from Tremec, which didnt show the seal in that location. So I will retract that, as it looks sealed to me.
