mechanical tachometer to electric tachometer?

mechanical tachometer to electric tachometer?
I have a 68 with a distributer driven tach. I noticed in new years GM went to a eletric tachometer. Has anyone changed out theirs? Im thinking of changing to fuel injection (holley cmdr 950) and is requires a HEI distributer, which means I will loose my funtional tachometer unless I convert to electic. Thanks

68-71 used green numerals, 72-up switched to white. I got the 75-77 electric tach for my 71 and switched the faceplates. That gave me the correct color mumerals with the higher 71 redline and electric movement.

There are a couple companies that sell HEI's with a tach drive. Kind of pricey. Would be cheaper to change the face with an electronic one.

Clocks by Roger can convert your mechanical tach to electric, and it will retain its original appearance. We just had our 72's converted. Roger does GOOD work! :cheers:
