I unbolted the hold open assy from the hood then unbolted all but one bolt from each side hinge, then with another person supporting the other side of the hood we removed the remaining bolts. Watch side to side movement to prevent paint damage. Also you probably already know this but mark your hinge positions with a line around the hinges on the hood so you can reinstall in the same position.

You can do it alone by using an engine hoist. Tie a rope around both sides of the rear spring and loop the center of the rope on the hook. This allows you to move it around alone without fear of dropping it.
