I hope this is not too dumb of a question, but my brake calipers have 4 bleeder valves on each caliper, top and bottom, inside and out.
Do you need to put on 4 speed bleeder valves, or just 2 on the top, or can you get by with just one on the outside.
I know when my calipers were off, no pads in place, and I thought the calipers were drained of all fluid, I pressed on the lower inside piston and left over fluid squirted out the upper outside bleeder valve hole - no bleeder valve in at the time.
So, air would have to migrate to the top. Seems like, since all passage ways connected, if you had just a valve on the outside, you would ultimately force any air to that side.
Reason for wanting to do this is because you can reach the bleeder valve through the slot in the wheel if in the right spot. Would not have to take tire off to bleed occasionally.
I answered part of my question - the two on the bottom of the rear that I thought were bleeders are actually plug. Bleeders on the top only. The plugs must be for whether they are assembling a left rear or right rear. Glad to know the front are only one each.
But two on the right rear and bled. Need to do the left next weekend. Got lazy at 5:30 in the evening.
I just finished installing my new calipers and i put speed bleeders all around . I have to say that bleeding with speedbleeders was the easiest brake bleeding i have ever done on any vehicle. Now i'll drive for a week or two to make sure no leaky leaky and then it's time to install the HYDRABOOSTER HA HA
