Default Transmission Kick-Down Switch

I read all of the previous threads concerning the kick-down switch. Everyone said the switch is located on the pedal linkage. I have a couple of maintenance manuals for my 1970 vette that has a T400. Both manuals indicate that the switch is supposed to me on the carb. Does anyone know the correct location for the kick-down switch for a 1970? There is a switch located on the pedal but it doesn't work. My car is full of stuff that is not original so it is hard sometimes to know what goes where. Thanks.

I've never heard of the TH400 kickdown switch being in the carb area.
It's the one that is attached to the pedal end of the accel cable.

ps - often the switch is replaced - and the problem is actually a small
(tranny kick down) solenoid inside the tranny pan.

Maybe you were referring to the idle kick-down solenoid for AC cars ?
This is located at the carb.

That's probably the answer, thank you. The other question that I have concerns the fuse for the switch. I managed to contort myself to where I could see the fuse panel. I didn't see a fuse for the transmission, or kick-down switch. The closest I could find was labeled "A/C -- TCS, could this be the fuse?
