I've installed an Edelbrock performer series cam, intake, carburetor, and aluminum heads on my stock 1977 L-48 block. Edelbrock says that these heads require .100" longer pushrods when using stock rockers. I'm going to use Crane 1.5 R stamped roller tip rockers with Crane 7.818" one piece pushrods.
I need to confirm if this pushrod is acceptable. Can anyone help.
Every motor is different. You should get a pushrod length checker or borrow one. That is really the only way to get the correct length. I had to go .100 longer with my heads when I installed them.
Thanks to everyone for their answers so far. I'm just being a little paranoid. The pushrods I bought are 7.818 (+.053). Paperwork says I need +.100 with stock rockers. Don't know if roller tips are considered stock or not.
Already called Jegs and they seem to think everything is allright. Probably will call Crane Cams on Monday as well. Setting the Lash was easy enough with no apparent problems. Haven't turned the key yet. What would be signs of incorrect length pushrods?
