All, I've torn into the rear suspension enough over the past six years since purchasing my '80 L48 to last me a lifetime. Unfortunately, I have the front t-arm bushings in dire need of repacement and I have no desire to begin ripping again.
What should I expect to pay a shop (like Van Steel in St Pete, FL) to do it for me ( I drop off and pick up)? I also need them to make parking brake adjustments (since I installed my 700R4 crossmember and new parking brake cables I cannot get the adjustment right).
Re: Cost for Front T-Arm bushing replacement? (Twin_Turbo)
The shops are wary to commit to reasonable times on removing the trailing arms. They know that they can loose their shirts if they are too conservative on a project that can be a royal PITA.
One of the shops here quoted me 7 hours per arm to pull, rebuild and reinstall. Basically $500 per T-arm.
Re: Cost for Front T-Arm bushing replacement? (Twin_Turbo)
I meant to say that I intend for the shop to perform the removal of the t-arms, remove/install the front t-arm bushings and then re-install on the car. No other repairs (other than parking brake cable adustment and alignment of rear wheels).
