Electric fuel pump relay
I searched the archives and found one topic, but it didn't answer my question. I see that painless sells a kit with 5 terminals. I think I only need 3 terminals. This is for my '71 GMC truck, so it doesn't need to be fancy. It's a hot rod and has a 350. I THINK I only need Power IN, Power OUT and the relay excitation. I should be able to run and get the simple 3 prong relay for $10. Any thoughts?

Power in and Power out is for your fuel pump power, the relay excitation needs a switched +12 Volts and a ground. if you use the same +12 Volts for both the Power in and relay excitation it can be done with three wires. However if you want to swich a constant +12 Volt with the relay and the Power in will be different sources you will need 4 wires

Oh Yea don't forget to fuse your +12 Volt for your fuel pump power.
