Default Headlights

I won a pair of aftermarket headlights on ebay for my 81 and was wondering about the headlight bulb size. It came with H4's with a sealed beam headlight housing. Will these fit my year? Here is a link to the ebay auction.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2436841363

I don't see any reason why they won't fit. I bought a similar set from JC Whitney and had to modify the tabs slighty so they would fit in the buckets but otherwise they work great. Soooo much brighter.

Well my question really was if the H4's plugs into the stock bulb harness that came on an 81? I hope they are the right bulbs....

Yea, i'm sure he does. It is a company called makauto.com. Go check them out and see what you can find. Email them through the ebay auction that I have linked too. Good Luck!

J.C. Whitney sells several different versions of these Halogen Conversion lights. I have purchased them from them in the past for different vehicles (Jeeps, my Harley) and they work fine - some are less money (especially when it comes to the outrageous "shipping and handling" fee this guy wants.

As usual, be VERY careful with eBay.....

I have been wanting to update the headlights on my C3 for a while now and this looks pretty good.
A couple of questions:

Is there a noticeable difference between these and the sealed beam headlights (brightness-wise)?

Do you just buy 4 lights? is there a difference between hi and low?

Just to be crystal clear- the H4 bulb will use the same plug that the stock headlight does?

thanks in advance!

Ok guys, I emailed Makatoautotrends.com, the H4 bulb is a dual filament bulb. How do you make this work on our vettes where we use 2 seperate lights for high and low???????

you can just wire up the plug to energize both elements on the inside (high) beams when the dimmer switch goes to high.

i would suggest the use of relays

also, this is what im going to do to mine

I bought two sets of these and only one set will fit the car. The high beams have 2 prong instead of 3 prongs like the other low beams. Anyone interested in these? They are brand spanking new! Let me know if you are interested. Thanks

PS: I wish there was an adapter to go from three from to two prong. Any ideas??
