Where's the rust?
seatbelt reinforcements, all the reinforcements in the nose area, the four
corners of the frame, and the bottom of the frame near the shock towers.
Take a look at my web site. I haven't updated it lately, but it should illustrate
many of these areas for you. See link in signature.
You want to at least inspect behind the driver and pssenger kick panels and
inside the access panels that are in the front side of the rear wheel wells.
Reach under between the body and frame. Pull up on the steel rocker
channels. Do they move - or are they solid ? The windshield frame rust can
usually be seen by peeking in through the windshield. A look under the dash
may also show signs of severe rust. Bring a flashlight.

I found a 72 for sale. It is about a 4 to 5 hour drive to see it in Michigan. Being a midwest car I want to be cautious for rust. The pics on your site are a big help. It has 70,000 miles on it. For a 72 I would think it didnt see many winter's on the road.
