There'd be a lot more to this resto than meets the eye. Figure that the whole front end fiberglass is shot as well as the rear deck over the tank. If the paint got hot enough to bubble, the resin in the 'glass is a goner as well. You'd be replacing the whole body! About the only things good on this one might be the chassis and birdcage!
Too bad. A fire extinguisher would have really helped things from getting out of control. I will definitely have to make it a point to have one in mine when its finished. I'd be quite sad :sad: if mine went up in flames.
This was a nice looking car and a great color combo. Too bad it has to serve as an example for the rest of us to be prepared.
Well said. That's what I was trying to say. Unfortunately, this car is a now an organ donor, and the list of useable organs is a short one that probably doesn't match the value of the $4,500 opening bid price. Believe me, I don't look at these cars as "investments," and I'm upside down big time. While we'd like to save them all, we have to have some appreciation for the economics of trying to bring a car back. Some cars are donors. :sad: :sad: :sad:
