I Guess it depends on what kind of sound you are looking for.
I run Flow master 50's which have an awesome sound to them but some drone inside at in city speeds.

Check out MidAmerica. http://www.madvet.com You'll have many choices from under car chambered systems to sidepipe kits. For mufflers, I'd go with flowmaster deltaflow 40's. They're not that loud with a good, solid system. Happy hunting!

Just put Deltaflow 40's(2.25 pipe) on mine. Awsome!! But be aware that exhaust sound is a matter of individual preference. I know others who put these mufflers on and couldn't stand the noise.

I am running a slightly modified LT1 motor in mine. I put a set of headers on and was running the stock exhaust on back It was good but then I had a custom 2 1/2 system with Delta Flow 50 put on. I gained about 2 tenths and 4 mph in the 1/4 mile. It really let the engine breath much better

I recently installed the MidAmerica chambered dual exhaust on my '79 and really like it. It's a bit loud up to about 50, then it quietens down. At WOT, holly molly !!!

I am partial to Spin Tech. I had 40's and liked them but I get more hp with the ST's. http://www.spintechmufflers.com/ They are a different sound and as has been mentioned, it's a personal thing. Flowmaster is clasic muscle and hard to beat.
Make sure whoever does your work can do mandrel bends. I asume your doing 2-1/2". I also believe in crossovers. It's hard to do X-pipes on a Vette, I have an H-pipe just past the cross member.
Good luck
