Ok C3 Guys, I have looked hi and low for info on building a body dolly for a 69 Coupe. Have read several items about how the C2/3 plans everyone seems to be using does not really fit right and that there is no support in the front. I plan to have the body off a few years so I want to support it both front and rear. Any ideas on what I need to do to modify the Nolan Adams plans to be more effective for the C3 body???? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. :chevy
I used Nolan Adams plans, and extended the front of the body dolly out to just under the radiator frame support. I had to place some wood shims between my radiator support and the body dolly to fill in the gap and give the support something to rest on. You may or may not have to do this, but be prepared by cutting some different thinkness' of wood and have a 2x4 to place across the top front of the body dolly just in case. As far as the width and length of the body dolly under the main vette body, it fits fine as long as you follow the directions and cut the post as indicated. If you just nail the body dolly cross supports to the outer edge of the post the body dolly will be to large in that area to fit up into the vette body like it's suppose to.
I have my '78 Vette body is sitting on a Nolan Adams design right now. It supports the front very well. Leave the lower radiator support in and that is what sits on top of the front piece of the dolly. The back end over hangs, but there is not much weight to worry about that too much.
Be sure to get really good casters to handle the weight...mine has already started chunking bearings when I move the body around. I am going to have to get some betters ones and replace them one at a time.

I did pretty much the same thing. I think I extended the nosesection slightly. I also built a support for the rear since I have a convertible. Otherwise the rear is held up by the door latches when closed.
