I have a pretty bad leak under my dash and it appears to be where the body panels meet and have seperated over time. What is a good sealer and where do i get it?
Lots of various sealers have been used successfully to seal water leaks around
the firewall area.
BUT - the root of the problem may be greater than that. I suspect a rusted
windshield frame.
The firewall (fiberglass) is rivetted and sealed to the lower windshield frame.
You should be able to see any gaps from the engine bay side.
I would use this stuff - worked great for me. The black stuff to seal. It
hardens in a couple days to a hard rubbery texture. Available at Home
Depot for a few bux. http://nhvette.homeunix.com/ftp/in/PLadhesive.jpg
PS - check out my website (in signature) to see what a rotted WS frame looks like (and more).
its not the frame but the panel with the wipers, so that stuff should work great! I recently had a new windshield put in and i had them insure that was not the problem they told me to take it to a body shop and have some type of panel sealer put on, but i hate to pay a body shop for some thing i can do my self. I should be able to pick it up at almost any hardware store right?
