Sorry its been awhile since I posted anything here, been having fun with the Vette. I am putting the Vette in storage for 6 months (Length of a WI winter) on Sat. What needs to be done to prepare it for sitting for 6 months. I did an oil change last week. I have heard that I should put an additive in with the gas. If that is true what should I get as an additive (name). The Vette will be covered and stored with 9 other vettes in a garage that is not heated. Thanks
1. Best if stored in a heated garage
2. Change oil and filter just prior to storage
3. Wash and thoroughly clean the car
4. Check antifreeze for -30 protection, flush and change if dirty
5. Clean the storage area (no bird seed, dog food, etc, attracts mice)
6. Put plastic sheeting on the floor under the car for a moisture barrier
7. Install a good quality car cover
8. Disconnect the negative battery cable
9. Don't start and stop the motor monthly or weekly
10. Add a product called STABIL (or equivelant) to the gas tank
11. Inflate tires to proper pressure or 5 pounds above
12. Don't use the car for a storage shelf
Wouldnt be a good Idea to start the car and pump the brakes every few weeks. I here this will keep thngs from freezing up and also avoid memory issues with the brake seals.

I wouldn't recommend starting the car 'till spring. The condensation build up in a partially warmed engine could cause more damage than brake problems, not to mention acidic buildup that occurs in the oil during combustion (I'm not too sure about the science of the latter, but old car guys are always bringing it up?).
As a side note, I've yet to have brake trouble caused by storage... (Now that I said that, guess what I'll have to do in the spring! )
