I use Raybestos PG Plus in my other cars like 98 ZR2 Blazer and wifes Mazda 626 and they work real good, nice and quiet and stop great. I also do many friends brakes for beer and they never complain about noise.
I'm using raybestos brutestops on my 71. Some slight dusting (really not much, though) but NO NOISE. After the squeling perf friction pads that was a relief.
Raymold is the cheap line of that product. The premium line would be better, use the "PG`s". Several lines also offer the molded semi metallic with noise silencers on the back of the pad. This would be the best choice, but only available in there premium lines. These do not have any rivits holding the pad to the plate. Wagner is another good brand, but not the cheap Wagners. ALWAYS have the rotors machined with every brake job to make sure they are true and it will help prevent a pulsing pedal. Another thing, it is not always necessary to buy new rotors, thats why rotors are machined. But be careful, most of the cut rate horses out there are merely selling price with a so called lifetime warrantee, not quality. Stick to brand names.
I'm using Raybestos Brutestop on my 1980 and finally got a quite pad. Also 40 % less braking force needed. Holds me at the starting line when cranking
2500 rpm. JamieJ
