cant fit air cleaner
well io bought the 3inch drop moroso air cleaner for my 383 with performer rpm intake and the hood wont close with it on....it just won't fit...what now???

I had a problem with the demon and hood closing also.. I ran a drop base with a 2.5" filter (gave me just enough clearance to close the hood) try that. it might work :cheers:

.......and if changing the filter doesn't work, then you might have to get a BB hood or change intakes......like the Edelbrock website says: The Performer RPM wont fit under stock Corvette hoods...........

I used the edelbrock pro-flo filter. Im very happy with it, looks and performance wise. Its different then most, fits under the hood, and flows 1,000 cfm. Try that and see if it fits.

I have an RPM Airgap intake and had the same problem. I went to advanced auto with a tape measure and found one I believe is 2 5/8 and it works but is tight. If I feel up to it later I'll see what the number is on it(I've strained the muscles in my neck and haven't worked for a couple of days and I'm on painkillers and muscle relaxers). As I said earlier I'll float out there and look later. :lol: :lol: :lol:

I have a 1972 hood which is lower than 73 and up. I used a Performer Air Gap which is a bit lower than the RPM but I also am using a 1" spacer. I had to ditch the 3" filter and got a K&N 2-1/4" filter with the Moroso cover. Just fits. Rubs a little. Anybody want to buy a barely used K&N Extreme lid 14" diameter?
