Attention, those with frame/a-arm structural damage
I am compiling information about the various failures that occur to the front end (particularly the lower a-arm mounts). I know we have had a few recently and many others over the years. If you can please post or e-mail me any pictures that you might have of the damage, I would appreciate it. Also, please include the year of the car, specs such as vert or coupe, small block or big block, spring rate, mileage, any damage history or anything else relevant. I'm sure others would be interested in seeing the pictures posted so feel free to e-mail and post.
Please send the highest resolution pics that you have. My e-mail address is eric@speeddirect.com
Re: Attention, those with frame/a-arm structural damage (burners)
Another bump to the top.
I know paul79 had some photos but I don't remember if the damage was to his car. Also, someone in Texas recently had some damage I think theirs was a '75.
Re: Attention, those with frame/a-arm structural damage (burners)
I don't have any pics, but I have several cracks on the driver side spring pocket area. All of the cracks are areas that seems to be crazy places to have cracks in-No cracks in any weld areas. They are only on open metal areas. It seems pretty strange to me. Anyway, I know the car had some light front left damage to it, but had I not seen it myself, you would never know it had been hit. It was obviously very low speed with no extensive damage-just some MILD glass work. I'm welding it up this week and adding the Van Steel spreader bar. Any other tips. These goofy cracks make me question the integrity of Corvette frames. By the way, there is no rust-it's solid.

Ok, that picture is one of the damaged cars that I was remembering. I know there is another red Vette from Texas as well. Where is aaron_74 anyway? I would like to see if he has more photos or not.

This is the front of the passenger A-arm in my car. It was this way when I bought it so I don't know the cause. It has held up well tho, and those who have been for a ride with me know I really push this car.
