Engine Compartment Cleanup
My engine is still original. One of these days it will get freshend or ZZ4. Until then my engine compartment is looking its age. What can be done to clean up the appearance with the engine still in? I've cleaned most everything with simple green. Can painting be done? Can the exhaust manifolds be painted with that grey stuff while still in place? Power brake booster? master brake cycl?

just mask off sections you don't want painted and go at it. Make sure to throughly cover the fenders, doors, windshield, hood - etc.
Use some semi gloss or chassis black for the suspension and chassis.
It is easier to wait until the motor is pulled, but with a little work it can be done with the motor in.
