Default Question on hood s from Mid Amer.

Has anyone used the 80's style hood that MAD offers on a early vette? I want a full lenght hood to eliminate the wiper door stuff. Don't realy want the full length L88 style hood, but the 80's high rise looks nice.

They said it will fit up, but I want to make sure before paying the big bucks!!

Default Re: Question on hood s from Mid Amer. (garandfan)

I bought a used vented high rise hood that came from MAD (P/N 608-147). It seems good quality. I stripped the paint and put it on to see how it looks, well I plan to race auto-cross next summer and I think that since it blocks the right front view over the fender I don't think it will be a good idea. I am planning to put it on ebay but if you are interested let me know, I will take $200.00 for it plus shipping. One of the hold open rod mount bolts has the bolt broke off with an easy out in it so I plan to cut a access slot along side the threaded plate and remove the plate so I can put it in a vice, then reinstall the plate and patch the hole. When I put it on my car the front of the hood was a little high but my original hood is also high so I am not sure how it will fit on another car, it can probably be adjusted. The rest of the hood fit well.
