Installed The Side Pipe Covers
Ran into a few problems and it took us almost four hours. The screw holes in the covers did not line up with the holes in the body. Ended up redrilling all twelve holes. Heck, we even did one side twice. Had to do some minor trimming underneath as well.
Figuring out the installation kit took some time. Anyway, they are on and all is well. I was worried about my inclining driveway, but it is not going to be a problem.
The muffler shop is going to install the pipes later in the week and I will have some pictures then. Those covers look soooooooo good!!!
All my questions about side pipes will be answered soon. :)

Re: Installed The Side Pipe Covers (patsnitrovette)
Got the mufflers from"Allen's Stainless" in Indiana. Someone posted the other day that side pipes are meant to be loud and I accept that. When you think about it there is no way they could be quiet. Really, given the fact where they are located they have to be loud. I already have some hearing loss and may invest in some hearing protection if necessary. :)
Raining here today so not good for pics, but will have them soon.

Re: Installed The Side Pipe Covers (OHSIXX)
so you do install the covers first before the mufflers? or vise versa? excuse my ignorance...i didn't bother to put my sidepipes on before getting the car through paint..so i was just wondering.

Re: Installed The Side Pipe Covers (Redshark6974)
My muffler guy told me to get the covers on before bringing the car to him. Another forum member said the same thing; covers first.
I made the mistake of starting on the covers at 9PM and finishing at 1AM. Probably why it took us so long.
BTW, the installation kit did not include the bolts to attach the front bracket to the frame. I was lucky to have the right size on hand.

Re: Installed The Side Pipe Covers (OHSIXX)
These are pieces I cut off the car. The two smaller equal the size of the larger one, so it was the same for both sides. Trying to say the two smaller ones came from the passengers side and the larger one from the drivers side.

Re: Installed The Side Pipe Covers (OHSIXX)
Mark,
where exactly did you cut those pieces from ??
I don't see any places along the frame rail where you would need to cut out.
The pipe bends under the rail and the muffler tucks up under the cover ..
Just curious

From the very front of the rail. There was no way it was going to work otherwise. Mark

I say they are fiberglass Corz. Guessing we will find out. Either way the chrome stock sidepipe look is great on a white vette.
