Dumb question. The bolt that holds the distributor in place... should I seal that? I got an aluminum hold down that looks real pretty. ;) How far should I snug it down? It has an allen head stud to put in the intake and a nut to tighten down the bracket.
Re: Installing a new dist hold down. (Pacin'California)
I used a Mr. Gasket stud/chrome hold-down on mine. The manifold hole is definitely blind. I only used a dab of anti-seize on it and screwed it in place. With this system, the hold down is retained by a nut on top of the stud.
The reason I used the anti-seize was that I might want to remove it at some point. The stud is steel and the manifold is aluminum, without Heli-Coil inserts (it was brand new when I installed it). I don't trust aluminum threads.
