My 78 t-top has a non/tele steering column, walnut steering wheel and no horn assy just a plastic cap. I have looked at all the drawings and can not tell what parts I need. Any ideas. I wish I could show you all, this car, it is a real beautiy.
When you say that you looked at all the drawings, I am not sure exactly what drawings you are refering to. If you go to http://www.corvettefaq.com and look in the Steering section, your original steering wheel and horn parts would have looked like the picture entitled:
Std Column 76-79 Strg Wheel & Horn Parts
However, with a special steering wheel as you describe, your steering wheel and horn parts may look more like the 69-75 drawings #1 & #2.
I would think that most of the aftermarket steering wheel manufacturers would try to use the GM production horn contacts, adapter hubs, etc.
Don't know about your horn but you can post pics here if you have them uploaded to a web-host somewhere. There are lots of them out there. I use http://www.cardomain.com
78s never came with wood steering wheels. They have three point brushed aluminum wheels with color keyed leaher around the perimeter. the center portion is flat and smooth with the 25th anniversary logo in lucite in the center.
