Hi, just want to show some pics of my '76' and ask for any advice on the redoing the interior, like where to buys the parts, should I get them all at the same time, and just any advice anyone has. I want to do a complete refurbishment of the interior this winter. [IMG][/IMG]
I DID IT PEACE MILL AND GOT DIFFERENT COLORS
ON THE CENTER CONSOLE AND SOME FROM DIFFERENT SUPPLIER'S WOULD PROBABLY DO IT ALL AT ONCE AT LEAST FROM SAME SUPPLIER
DOCMOW
Do a google search for Willcox Corvette and they should show up. I agree buy all the items at once. I had a problem with matching color on a Buckskin interior. After three tries they got it right. Willcox was good to work with. If you are doing carpet, consider insulation and or sound deadening. Search the archives for some good tips.
I have done 2 C3's and I think it is smarter to get everything at once. Check out the package prices at Corvette America. I think you will find most of the seat covers, carpets, and door panels all come from the same manufacturer of the respective part.
If you are going to reuse your older 'hard parts', console - dash- etc., make sure you do a good 'prep' on them before using the dye's you can buy to freshen them up.
Also, if you have never put on seat covers, consider taking the seats out and having them done by an interior shop. I learned how to do interiors in the Navy back in the 60's so I do recover my own seats, but if you don't have any experience with this you can ruin a set of seat covers in a heartbeat.
If you go to the C4 forum and do search on Leather Like Seat covers, there are links to the seats I just did for my 88. Considering I haven't done an interior since the 80's I think they came out pretty well.
