If the Eclipse deck is anything like mine (and I think they all have this feature) it has a key-cd security feature. When you first install the deck, you put in a cd and it remembers that cd and when you cut power from the deck you must insert that cd for it to work again. After you try 3 times you have to call Eclipse to have them give you the reset codes. You might want to ask the seller what cd he used for a key.

Possibly that cd was the first inserted into the deck and recognizes it ( Dr. Dre) as the cd key. I have one of the newer eclipse decks and the first cd I used was/is " the cd key". Hope this helps.

Out of curiosity.... is black the original color of the vette? I can't remember from the other threads. I know black was not offered as an alternative in '71 although that's what mine is now.
