Manual or automatic which is.........
I am going to look at a 72 coupe with a 454 soon. It has an automatic which is my preference. My question is which trans is more desirable for resale? Does one over the other get a higher price?

I think on average, a manual is more desirable. Especially if you expect the BIIIIIG bucks.
But if it's not a very special car, it matters less.

In a 72 it doesn't matter a ton because it's a 454 and a chrome bumper car. However, if you look at a black book it says 4 speeds get about $1,500 more on average for that year if memory serves. I'd imagine both would appreciate about the same.
