Problems starting
I have had my vette for a few weeks now and it's one thing that really bothers
me, if she has stood for only two or three days it's hard to start her up.
I first pump two-three times on the throttle and then turn the start engine,
nothing happens for four-five seconds, i stop turning the start engine and pump
some more with the throttle, turn the key again and if I'm lucky she starts.
The problems aint over, I have to hold the pedal down a little for maybe
one minute to keep her from dying. First then I can put in drive and get out
of the garage.
Is it normal that these old cars are so hard to start?
When she's warm theres no problem.
What makes her so hard to start? Is it just that the mecanical fuel pump has
to pump up the fuel or is it many other factors?
Have you found any solutions for this?
Thankful for any answers. I've put her away for the winter now, will be
interesting to see if I can manage to get her started after a few months

The early morning start up problem is most common with rochesters. The bowl plugs are leaking and the carb. bowl has no fuel left in it after a long set. This can be fixed with a good rebuild and attention to the plugs.
The second problem is probably related to the automatic choke, the choke pull off and the fast idle cam. These need to be checked and adjusted.
