UPDATE 12/22/03
Good news!
I just heard from Al's g/f who just was visiting with him this past weekend.
She says he is doing great in rehab. He's walking, talking eating etc.
His memory is coming around. He is aware of whats happening but sometimes forgets. He doesnt really remember his accident. He does remember his bike ( which was totalled) he's bummed about that. He talks about the bike in great detail.
He does say "Hi" and thanks all for the well wishes.
Last said he may get out of the Hospital in early Jan.
I'll post more when I get it.
UPDATE 1/6/04
I rec'd this message from his g/f yesterday afternoon.
He is doing alot better...actually moving today to a new place in Augusta...it's a re-entry assisted living place to get him acclimated to being on his own again. He has to learn everything over...take a driving test, competency etc. He will work at the store at this place etc. I will get you the detail once his mother sends them to me. He is really doing well...the memory is coming back slowly though.
I'm incredibly sorry to hear this. I barely survived a motorcycle accident a few years ago. I pray that there are no permanent injuries. Get well soon dude. :blueangel:

I think it would mean quite a bit to Alwyn if we could send something (flowers maybe?) from the C3 forum. Would it be possible to take a collection and do this?
He probably won't see email until he's out of the hospital. We should get together and send a C3 die cast or something to his room. If 20 of us put up a few bucks we could get something pretty nice.

It seems that motorcycles keep trying to take all of our great car guys. Last Summer, one of the world's great Turbo Mopar (2.2L and 2.5L) guys, TurboGus, was killed on a motorcycle. I had the utmost respect for Gus, because he would beat 427Vettes at the strip in his daily driver Dodge Spirit and his wife's Dodge Caravan!!!
This is the reason my wife says I can have all the cars in the world, but if I ever get a motorcycle, it doesn't leave the cul-de-sac.
