I am the proud new owner of a well used 77' model and I have a short in my taillight wireing that keeps blowing fuses. They will burn for an hour sitting in the garage but take a 2 mile drive and pull back into the garage and the fuse is blown again.
Is there any particular area or juntion that you guys have run into that would be a good starting place to track this intermitten problem? If it had a dead short I oculd find that easy enough but since this only seems to occur while moving I thought I might find someone that has had a similar problem and already traced it down to a particular area.
I had this on my 77. It turned out that a wire from the tail light was too close to the exhaust pipe. It melted the insulation and when riding it would jiggle around and touch the pipe causing the short. I taped it up and out of the way and it works fine since.
