Default Sad situation in a C3

Here's a very sad situation from here in Dallas yesterday. Two teenagers traveling at more than 80 mph crossed the median, went airborn, and hit an 18 wheeler head on. One died, and the other is still in the hospital.

Um... that car is *toast!* They must have been pushing more than 80 (well 80 + 65 = 145mph total speed at the collision and the semi has way more mass)

Dayum...

Ripped that frame in half....speed had to be greater than 80 to snap the frame in half and to launch the vette airborne...

Sorry folks, not going to see any sympathy from me.

The whole story is that they were speeding - a lot - and weaving in and out of traffic. They then lost control of their car, crossed over and met Mr. Semi truck.

All I can say is that I am very glad that they met a semi and not a family in a mini-van. As for the driver of the C3, I hope he's the dead one - serves him right. If you drive like an azz, I hope you die like an azz and not take anyone else with you along the way.

That took me a minute to absorb. Torque converter hanging out one end, hooker sidepipe at the other. WAY more than 80 mph to do that, definitely faster than their angels could fly...

Very sad indeed. Can't necessarily agree wishing death on the driver. Id be two-faced if I told you I was an teenage A-hole myself. I'm sure we did all sorts of stupid stuff in our youth. Bottom line I hate to see anyone hurt, including A-holes. Sucks about the vette, judging from the pics it was in good shape, 75-79 possibly???

:( :(

actually I dont hope he is dead. I dont hope for anyone's death, evan if they made a Grose driving error. If the passenger ( or anyone else from another car) died then the driver should have died. If the passenger lived then the driver should live.
As it stands now the person who lived is in critical care and will suffer for the rest of there lives. IMHO if it was the driver that died.. then he got the eazy way out.

Nobody deserves to die just because they were speeding.

I See this crap every day on the way to work. Nothing is worse than some jerk merging in with 3 ft front and back. Generally gets a toot from me. It is easy to loose sight of the amount of energy in a moving car and of how fragile the human body is. Failure to respect that has bad results!

Sad to see a life snuffed out by stupidity.

Horrible Horrible tragedy (even if he was driving crazy)

Recently up here in my area there was a accident where some jerk cut off a car on a 4 lane highway divided my a solid concrete median (2 lanes each side) and the car that got cut off swerved to avoid hitting him and somehow got airborn over the median and everyone died in that vehicle while another death was caused going the opposite direction that hit them. All while the car that cut them off was able to drive away.

Thats the butt I dont feel sorry for if they ever die. Killing many others not in your own vehicle. Now you should not be allowed behind the wheel or for that matter to leave your jail cell for 20+ years...
