Did you try to cut s slice in the pipes from the side to open them up with a chisle? Eastwoods sells a tool to just this. 2 clamps that clamp on each side of the pipe. Theres a jack screw to separate them. I first saw these at Carlisle 2 years ago for $35.

the pipe coming off the muffler already hade a slit cut in it, i got up under it w/ a flathead and pryed it up and smothered underneath it w/ WD-40 but still no luck breaking it free. i heard that brake fluid will eat rust pretty well. might try some of that.

If you are close to an Autozone, they have a tool that you can borrow(loaner tool program) that cuts the pipe. It is a handle with a chain that wraps around the pipe. The chain has sharp round blades to cut through the pipes just like a plumbing pipe cutter.

If the pipe and muffler have been on a long time they are usually mated. The rust, carbon, and the clamp tracks make it damn near impossible to get apart in 1 piece. You might have to cut the exh. pipe back, cut off the damaged piece and then use a sleeve joint of the OD/ID size to put them back together. The auto store have all the sizes.
