Shifter Help needed
doing some R&R on my 72 the other day & i had purchase a shifter rebuild kit for my 4 speed. i disassebled the console, boot, linkage, etc but could not figure out where the shifter was bolted on. so needless to say, I cleaned & lubed what i could see of it & put it back together.
So the question is..........How do you remove the shifter?/

The shifter is bolted to a bracket that is bolted to the trans crossmember. You get to it from under the car. It's on the drivers side. 2 bolts hold it on.

Did you buy the shifter rebuild kit from Zip that has the shijm plates to restore your shifter to its original, new feel? I bought one too, but have not yet put it in.
How did the installation go and are you satisfied? Did you have to take it out and insert the other shim plate or did you get it right the first time?
