Default Henrob torches?

Hey guys...

Wondering what you guys think of the Henrob welding/cutting torch? I have only fooled around with a buzz box, and a plain cutting torch to see what they do... No formal edjmactin on the subject of metal work... but I found their website http://www.cut-like-plasma.com

I'd like to learn how to do this stuff... and the ability to use it on most anything might be worth the extra steap learning curve.

The videos on there are pretty slick too... welding cast iron and aluminum... then again I guess he'd be a pro... and they make hard stuff look easy!

Thanks guys
 :yesnod:

Don''t have any experience with that brand. I have a Victor "Super range" set that I use and it has served very well. I do a lot of brazing in my job with it, and it has been really helpful in getting rusted parts apart, like manifold studs and rusted nuts. The set came with 3 welding/brazing tips, a rose bud, and a cutting head. Be sure to get flashback arrestors no matter what you end up getting. Some install at the handle (which is what I use) others install at the regulators.

I have a Henrob torch and I like it. I would like it even more if I practiced with it and became somewhat as good as the guy that did the demo at the car show was. Although, it just takes a steady hand. I can't MIG weld pretty-like either, unless I support my hand. The big advantages with this torch are that it uses a lot less gas, and creates finer cuts with less slag. The demo guy was cutting nice little spirals in railroad spikes, making 1/32" slices, and all sorts of cool stuff. He was fun to watch. Key item like anything else;practice.

I have a Henrob torch set. I do just fine with my regular old acetylene/oxygen torch, but, I have never been able to master the Henrob set. The guy at the demo is amazing and sucked me right in. I have watched the included video numerous times and played with it quite a bit, but, I would have to put it right up there with some of the worst money I have spent on a tool. My uncle wants it so I am thinking of trading it to him for a 12 volt hydralic setup he has that I want so I can put a hoist on my old snowplow truck. Don't really know what I will be needing to dump, but, p/u's with hoist just look cool to me.
