Replacing water pump?
Replacing pump and had new core installed on radiator. Is it ok to put the spray nozzle of my water hose into the water pump holes and flush out the engine before installing the pump?

I flushed the radiator on my sons truck by pulling the thermostat and opening the drain petcock on the radiator. I put the water hose in the top of the radiator fill and just let the water run till it came out clean. I started the truck a few times just to make sure to get all that was left in the block, out.
