Default Sound System

I've just bought a 91 convertible with the sound system inoperative.
I'd like to install a new one but I don't know where to find a dash top adaptator for the reciever...
Does someone have any idea
Moreover I'd like to know if the dash is "easy" to remove
Thanks
Arnaud

Arnuad,
First, I see you are a new member, so welcome to the Forum. Second, this section is for 68-82 Corvettes and chances are that your question would most likely go unanswered if i didnt step in to help. I happen to own a 91 vert as well as a 72 vert and know exactly what you are refering to. If you have the stock Bose system and it s not functioning, then your problem is most likely the individual amps in the Bose speakers. The capacitors will leak out and go bad over time and then the sound will cease. You have a couple of options;
1) Pull the whole system out and start over
2) Leave it as it is and sing(loudly) to yourself
3) Buy replacement amps from someone off of ebay and hope they are not bad
4) Send your amps off to Dr. Bose and he will rebuild them for a reasonable cost and guarantee them
The problem was compounded on mine with my control unit going bad(which happens to be buried deep within the passenger side dash) as well as all four of my amps. The good news is that its all been replaced and sounds pretty good for a 13 year old sound system. The bad news is that it cost me a few hundred dollars. I repaired instead of replaced due to me wanting to keep it in original condition.
In closing, if you have additional questions, direct them to the "stereo section" or to the "C4 tech section". Good luck
