Default 73 Owners......

Those of you with 73's can you tell me what the proper key codes should be?
When I bought my 73 it cam with a code J ignition (square) and a code E for the doors (also square) what is the right door code? is there a round key (code D or H) that is the same as the square code E?

"E" (square head)is for ignition and doors, "H" (round head) is for the rear center and alarm.

Hope this helps.

My door key is an "B" round key. My alarm spare tire lock key is an "H".

"B" round keys were used in 71, 75 and 79 corvettes.

I have one square head E key for my ignition and doors. I also have an oval head key for the spare tire lock and alarm. Joe

Thanks for the replies, I thought the doors should be a round key like other GM models. the 74 I have for parts came with a square code E for the ignition and a round code K for the doors, is this right

My ign must have been replaced since it has an 'A' code and I have a second square head which I believe is for the alarm and an oval for the doors.
