Default Bowl Blending

Could someone explain what bowl blending is? Is this something that can be done by the average person with the correct tools? Thanks for any input you can give me.

Default Re: Bowl Blending (T-Top Tom 1)

Bolw blending is smoothing the bowl (area directly above the valve) to the throat (area of the port looking in from the manifold openings) to remove any high spots or rough areas left in the head by either the casting or machining of the valve bowl.

The transition of the intake runner past the turn (radius) to the area where the valve seat machining stops is very poor when stock. Smoothing (blending) of this area reduces restrictions and turbulence and greatly increases the flow by correcting the most restrictive area of the port.
