Plan on doing this myself shortly...staying with the alpine brand and going to cut the center console bezel, as mine is cracked around the radio stem holes anyhow. Will go with a DIN unit. Some of the guys have post pictures of the mod and looks fairly ez with nice results. And better sound I am sure! :steering:

I bought a cassette/cd player that fits in the dash without any cutting. I located the changer under the rear deck using a thin mounting board, two luggage rack bolts that protrude through the rear deck and glue. After many years the glue still supports the changer. I think the reason being that the screws are bearing most of the weight. Sorry no pictures. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten a player with the cd controls on the face of the radio. I use a remote.
