I have full color pictures of that car in one of my books, also the phase III Chevelle and 'maro. They all used the L-88, I'm fairly sure. (The 427 Version.) Very awesome cars.

427V8: No disrespect to you or your left nad...I'd cut off mine to have a Nickey/Yenko/Baldwin car ANY day, as long as it was a 427!!! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
Re: Corvette GT...It DID exist!!! Proof here!!! (Pacin'California)
Thes were cars sold by Baldwin Chevrolet of Brooklyn, N.Y. They teamed up with Dyno tuner, drag racer and entrepreneur Joel Rosen who produced these along with the much more famous Baldwin/Motion Camaros. These were done by swapping in L72 427 crate motors and selling the L78 396 engines. Baldwin/Motion also produced 427SS Chevy II's and Chevelles. Rosen had a reputation as a dyno tuner supreme and racer so they wer very fast.
Motion sold 350 and 454 Vega swap kits well into the 70's after his relationship with Baldwin Chevrolet ended. He also sold the parts to make your own Corvette GT if you were so inclined.
If you think you have an original Baldwin/Motion car you can contact Joel and he'll confirm it... for a fee! Otherwise, he'll neither confirm or deny.
Since these were all modified after leaving the factory, I'm not sure these qualify as an original. However, "original" Baldwin/Motion cars are quite valuable and for that reason there are quite a few clones out there. Especially Baldwin Camaros.
Re: Corvette GT...It DID exist!!! Proof here!!! (GUSTO14)
GUSTO: What's really weird is even the clones go for big $$$$$!!!!!
If a clone is done well and is identical to looks and equipment like an original, it's not unusual to see them go for $30,000 and UP!!!

John: I feel the same way about Nickey. I am 10 miles North of where they used to be. I wish I could turn back the clock and BUY one of those Camaros or Novas with a 427 :( But even back then they were pretty expensive.
Re: Corvette GT...It DID exist!!! Proof here!!! (Dep)
I think that all the time go back in a time machine or something lol. And then when you here all the stories about how they cut up allot of those cars. Makes a grown man want to cry :cry .

My dad used to have a 69 Yanko Camaro w/a all aluminum 427. Car was purchased by a company called Smokey Unit. Low 10 sec car. Radio delete and heat delete w/all disc brakes, no drum. He used to race it in NY, NJ, Philly, and Delaware.

Not too long ago someone on here posted the pics of the GT car on here. I have the full color pics saved on my screen saver. Pretty cool car with Datsun headlights, slantback glass and firebird taillights.
