Pretty disapointing. I just got my copy and for what it costs, it should be so much more. It was interesting seeing the difference between cams. I think that and compression rations and such are all it's good for.
I don't think it's worthless by any means, it should just be so much more. It needs more head choices, intake choices, etc. Heads should include things like intake runner size, etc.
The most interesting thing is to see how much tq and hp can be gained by a roller cam. Even on a mild street engine it can mean 100 ft lbs of tq gain and about 60 hp gain.

For the same specs, just rollerized? :bs

Be forewarned that program is often overly optimistic. Also, I thought you can download more head, etc. info?

You can input and save as a file any cylinder head or camshaft that you have information for. The information for doing that should be in your manual.

The manual states that the selection for roller cams is not correct unless you are using a radical race only grind.

You can find a lot more information here. http://www.chevyasylum.com/dyno2000/Welcome.html
and here. http://www.smokemup.com/utils/cams.php

I should have qualified that since my engine is a 454 so any gains would be larger compared to a SBC. To answer your question tho the duration is about the same with greater lift. I have read other articles with actual dyno testing that indicate similar gains by going to a roller cam on a big block. A 350 would see the same % gains, but smaller gross numbers.

I wasn't aware of the download sites. I'll try those out - thanks for the info. It just seems to me that for what it costs, all that info should be already in it. How hard would it be to include the most popular cam profiles from major companies like Crower or Crane or Comp?

The cylinder head info you can input is a bit limited. It also seems that info for popular heads, both stock and aftermarket, should already be in the program.
