I have side pipes, and they are indeed WAY cool, but certainly not quiet, even inside the cabin. Starting up in the garage, a little rev on that bored 427 produces a DEAFENING rumble if you're outside the car, and too much to talk over even inside the car ('course, I desperately need new weatherstripping ;) ). Bottom line: Nothing polite about sidepipes, but I wouldn't trade them. I'm sure my neighbor would trade them when I leave early in the morning though :D

I have the Monza type exhaust tips from Pace Setter. They don't make nearly the resonance that the flowmasters on my truck do. They are decent at all speeds and sound faily sporty.

Twin Turbo if you live up to your name you will hardly need mufflers. Turbo's really quiet a car down.

the bullets are for my truck.
I have a 3" cutout on my downpipes so I will be able to select muffled or not, I think non muffled will be the preferred option :)

YOU are right , Norval, I had an '84 turbo Colt once....long time ago....and after fixing the obvious problems with that car, I removed everything but a straight pipe after the turbo....
still not loud enough....
don't forget TT lives in PC Europe...dense population....

We have a 93 decibel max. noise level here but I don't care. My truck is going to be even louder than it is, my vette used to be really loud and they never pulled me over for it. Mufflers are required but they don't say what kind of mufflers.

Gene it is true that I see geese flying over all the time and the ducks use my pool as long as the winter cover is on but we are heavily populated, the traffic jams everything any busy american city has.
I hate it but they assure us that it is a good sign of a growing economy. Unless you are in business for yourself this growing economy does nothing but drive my house value up and since I have no intensions of moving how does that help me other then pay higher taxes.
