I'm working on my Christmas wish list, and can't decide on which mufflers to go with.I want the best flow and most volume I can get without too much interior resonance.Any ideas?
my y piped flowmasters have alot fo interior res. at low rpms and very little noise in the high end, shouldnt it be the other way around. I cant say what series they are because they were one when i bought it. I hear one flowmaster and one dynomax sounds great but havent actually seen anyone do it in person.
Why not side pipes, they arent THAT loud
No interior resonance with my Dynomax Race Bullets. However, these mufflers are not for the faint of heart....they are loud. You must raise your voice to carry on a conversation in the cockpit. They have less backpressure than most mufflers but you pay the price in noise.
I ordered some Dynomax Race bullets for my truck, I hope they will be loud and obnoxious :) I also have some stainless Dynomax race mufflers (oval kind) for my vette.
I had Borla's there was quite some interior resonance but I had no sound deadening stuff anywhere.
Superfast80 has the race turbos and they are very very loud, they are meant for the track as they are pretty much just for show. There are a couple of guys who have strung a few together and made their own sidepipes. If as you state you want obnoxiously loud then those race bullets are for you.
Thanks for the replies. I think I'm leaning to the ultraflows. The flow rate numbers for those are huge and I really cannot stand muffs the resonate  Now I just have to be a good boy for the next 2 1/2 weeks, collect the presents, and then get back to my nasty ways. :hurray:
Are the Dynomax Race Bullets street legal? My Corvette has 40-series flowmasters on it now. I want the Bullets for my '71 Nova project car, how loud are the mufflers compared to the 40-series (which I consider pretty loud)? Thanks.
I got the WLK-24215. Excellent muff...way loud. If you look in my briefcase, there are 3 mpgs. Takeoff is with the bullets, the other 2 are the 40s. The bullets are about twice as loud as the 40s, on my car...and I've got a wimpy little mild big block.
I'm running the Magnaflows on my '80. Nice low rumble with no resonance or drone. Kick in the secondaries though and look out! These are one of the best sounding mufflers I have heard. Not sure on the flow specs compared to others, I was just looking for that certain sound. :D
just had all new pipes and mufflers "magnaflow" and hedman headers installed on my75 vert  not to load and it sounds sweet :hurray: hope this helps... bushog
