It was a good show but it took a while to walk the entire thing. As usual I saw a lot of very cool and usually expensive racing parts. One interesting trend I noticed was that there were quite a few companies getting into the muscle car aluminum radiator business. Visteon, C&R, and AFCO all had a wide range of applications although nothing specifically for Corvettes. Also, all of the cylinder head manufacturers seem to be expanding their product lines exponentially. They had huge booths with an incredible number of heads on display.
It was interesting to see some of the ricer companies start to show. They were mainly showing lightweight flywheels, clutches and intercoolers but the turbo and supercharger companies had a strong presence. Granted, HKS and Paxton have been around a while so it's not like they are new.
There are an increasing number of improved strength gear sets being offered for the T-5/Tremec gearbox. Both G-Force and Liberty offer stronger gear sets and dogring gear sets. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.
Well, I figured I would share some of my impressions of the show with everyone.
I wish that they would group some of the vendors together as to the type of products, ie: sprint cars, late models, indy cars, engine parts, suspension parts like they do on machinery row. Way to much walking the way it is. I am sure I put on 300 mile on my Nike's this weekend. :lolg:
Did you catch the titanium coil over springs at the GRT booth? Really neat peices.
Hey Pete, no I didn't see the titanium springs. That sounds very interesting. Sometimes things get lost in all the confusion. I remember walking by a booth that was doing things in titanium. It must have been them. Grouping vendors together is a pretty good idea. That would at least give you an area to concentrate on.
I, too, nearly wore out a pair of shoes. I think I may get one of those motorized bar stools. That would make life easy.
