Default Thinking about a C3 project car

My buddy has a 79 Vette, I would like to pick up a 68-73? coupe. I dont care if it really runs, or any thing like that. I just want a project car with a good clean body, care less about the paint as well. I was just wondering if theres any thing to look for, or trouble spots far as rust goes. Also can some one tell me what Astro Ventilation is?

Yes, windshield/birdcage rust, body mounts rust, radiator support rust, trailing arm rust, and overall frame rust. Those are all areas that can make you project go from normal to "difficult and expensive"

Good luck!

:iagree: Also make sure that it is all there. If it is multiple boxes walk away  These cars are fun to work on but can get very expensive when you have to replac a lot of things. I bought my '71 vert for $4500. It had a new crate motor in it as well as a newly rebuilt trannie. I did all the body and paint myself. Sold the crate motor for $1100 and put the money in the suspension and brakes. It was a cheap auto zone motor and I wanted a BB. :D The only thing that I farmed out was the rear trailing arm rebuild. That was $900  but well worth it. The only other thing I plan on getting someone else to do is install the new vertible top. They are great cars to restore\modify just have fun and don't look at the receits. :yesnod:

Outside air is supposed to flow throughout the cabin from the dash vents and out the rear deck vents with the windows closed on air cars equipped cars. I am not sure if they stoped that in 73 or 74. My uncles 74 does not have it. His vents near the back window are closed. Eric
