Default 79 Vette info needed

What is the compression ratio on the "factory" engine in a 79 Vette, not the L82 just the base engine. Also what is the cylinder head CC of the same engine ?

Not sure of the answers to your questions, however, all 1978-1982 350ci engines used cylinder heads with casting number 462624.

In 1980 the L48 had a compression ratio of 8.5:1 and the L82 had a compression ratio of 9.0:1.

The advertised figures are 8.5 to 1 compression ratio and 76 c.c. combustion chambers. The numbers that you get if you really measure your engine will be more like 8 to 1 and 80 to 84 c.c.
