I had this same problem after I reassembled my 74 coupe. To solve it put the front edge of the t-top trim in the trim clip not behind it. I put both the t-top trim and the windsheild trim in the clip. Closes the gap.
Had the same issue with mine, no way was it going to get any closer due to the positioning of the clips on the tops of the windshield frame.
I noticed when I took it off that there was black "putty" between the two (I guess original as it describe's something similar in the AIM) so I went to the autoparts store, bought some 3M black body panel cork (comes in 1/4" strips, 18" long) and pressed it into the gap, whiped it smooth with a rag damp with thinners and it looks pretty nice. I also used the cork for the seal between the rear of the t-roof trim and the body (used masking tape as a guide).

What a cool signation pic...
Your car looks absolutely gorgeous!
Way to go!
I hope mine will have a stance like your car when it´s finally assembled again.
BTW cool spinners you gout there on your TTII
Are those 16"? and what brand of spinners?
They are American Racing 200S (sometimes called the "coke bottle" or "daisy" wheel. They came all polished, I sanded the centers and painted them dark grey and added the spinners.

If you are talking about the gap between the corner trim and middle trim, almost all have some and the putty stuff is used to seal the t-tops. Or at least that is what the guy i bought my t-tops from said
