Hey folks, I'm in the middle of replacing my rotors, but I can't get the thing off! I drilled out the rivet heads and popped them all out, but the rotor won't budge! I kicked it, beat it with a hammer, nothing. Am I forgetting something?
It's the front rotors... I just removed the head of the rivets. I drilled through it with a 5/16" bit, took a chisel and made an edge to get my screwdriver in there so I could pry it out. I can see the metal lip of the rotor where the head of the rivet rests.
Hey folks, thanks for the help... Turns out I misread an article, and I only drilled out the head of the rivet. I went back and drilled out the whole rivet, did a little kicking action, a little prying action, and the rotor finally came off. Looks like I won the battle this time.:boxing I immediately installed 1 of 4 of my VanSteel slotted rotors, Performance Plus O-Ring Calipers, and S/S braided brake lines. 1 down, 3 to go. Oh, and I also figured out that cordless drills suck for this job. Took 2 batteries to accomplish all this!
